CRTC Under Fire for UBB
It seems as though the CRTC has brought upon itself some harsh criticism for its decision regarding the UBB. In a nutshell UBB (Usage Based Billing) will allow Bell to cap its wholesaler's end users and charge them a ridiculous amount of money for anything above and beyond that cap. Wholesalers and end users have been up in arms over the decision since it was made public and have turned to OpenMedia to attract the attention of anyone they could. A review will be under way today at 4:00 P.M. EST in Ottawa to question the head of the CRTC, Mr. Konrad von Finckenstein, about his decision. You can, of course, stream the session live from CPAC.

Iraq Church Bombing
I am not in any way surprised that the massacre of October 31, 2010 against the Christian worshipers in Our Lady of Salvation Church in Baghdad, Iraq took place. It has been a long time coming that Islam would eventually perpetrate such an evil act. Many will argue that not all Muslims are the same and that the bombings had a reason behind them but any mad man can conjure up a reason why in order to argue his sanity.
Perhaps the Christians and Catholics in Iraq are a dying breed but that is thanks in part to the slow and systematic annhilation of anything other than Muslims by Muslims. This is a warning to all Western countries who have allowed this cancer that is Islam to take root within your borders. You will, one day, face the same fate. You allow them to erect mosques and freely preach their hatered. Yet, in countries like Saudi Arabia, it is forbidden to practice any other religion other than Islam; let alone erect a Church.
It is a sad day that peaceful worshipers are slaughtered like lambs and nothing comes of it. Thanks to videos such as this one and this one for giving attention to an otherwise hopeless struggle of a minority for survival. Vigils such as the one here and protests in Toronto should only be the beginning. There needs to be a movement towards retaliation. The time of "turning the other cheek" has passed. If the struggle isn't taken up by outside forces then the last, native people in Iraq will forever be extinct.
Until then the violence against the ever shrinking minority in Iraq will only get worse!

BP Fails Again
BP has failed yet again at capping the gushing oil well. While the latest attempt at stopping the oil flow using a saw failed miserably today BP has continued to push forward. With many Gulf States facing clean ups in the hundreds of thousands of dollars BP has announced that they will, in a feeble attempt, support the U.S. government's decision to proceed with the construction of six sections of the Louisiana barrier islands proposal. The company has stated that it will fund the estimated $360 million project. With the problem only getting worse this seems to be BP's version of a band aid.
